Victorian golf fans will have an extra reason to smile this summer with six-time PGA TOUR winner Marc Leishman to tee it up at the 2025 Vic PGA Championship – and he’ll be joined by a very special playing partner.

The popular Australian will compete in the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia tournament at Moonah Links on the Mornington Peninsula from December 11-14, with his son Harvey making it a family double as his pro-am partner.

Leishman, who was a winner on LIV Golf this year and equal third in last month’s Nexus Advisernet Bowra & O’Dea WA Open, said the chance to play close to home and share the week with his eldest son made it an easy decision to return to the Vic PGA.

“It will be a special week at Moonah Links. As a Victorian professional, it’s great to be in my home state and playing in the Vic PGA for the first time in many years, but I also have the chance to do it with Harvey alongside as my pro-am partner,” Leishman said.

“It’s going to be a first for us and we’re both really looking forward to getting out there.

“Harvey loves the game and I’m sure he will want us to do well. But the main thing will be enjoying the experience of being out on a couple of our best courses and being part of a Tour event.

“I have fond memories of winning the 2008 Vic PGA and I’ll be trying to win the 2025 edition.”

The Vic PGA will again be played in the pro-am format across both the Legends and Open courses at Moonah Links, giving fans a rare opportunity to see some of the country’s leading professionals, rising local talents and a range of celebrity golfers up close.

The pro-am teams all play the first 36 holes with the top 25 teams advancing to Saturday’s play and then the leading eight to Sunday.

Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia General Manager of Tournaments and Global Tour Relationships Nick Dastey said Leishman’s appearance would give the Vic PGA an extra level of excitement and connection for spectators.

“Marc is one of Australia’s most respected professionals and a great ambassador for the game both here and overseas,” Dastey said.

“Having him back at the Vic PGA is fantastic for Victorian golf fans, and the fact he’s bringing Harvey along to share the experience makes it even more special.”

By playing in his fourth Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia event over the summer, Leishman will become eligible for a final ranking in this season’s Order of Merit.

He is currently sitting in 26th position with the BMW Australian PGA Championship, men’s Australian Open and Vic PGA to come on his 2025 schedule.

The entry list for this year’s Vic PGA also includes Webex Players Series SA champion Matias Sanchez, NT PGA winner Andrew Martin and former Vic Open champion Brett Coletta.
