In the post-pandemic era, more women than men have taken up traditional on-course golf. According to the National Golf Foundation (NGF), there has been a net gain of 2.3 million female golfers since 2019—accounting for nearly 60% of the total increase in on-course participation. The NGF attributes the boost to inclusive junior development programs, affordable golf gear, and the rising popularity of golf gaming complexes like Five Iron Golf.
As of 2024, the number of women and girls playing traditional, on-course golf has reached an all-time high of nearly 7.9 million.
As more women have entered the game, some have taken golf style into their own hands. Unhappy with the options in front of them, they’ve started their own golf apparel lines. Wearing the right outfit can set the tone for the entire game, a philosophy embraced by Prio Golf founders Sammy Berger and Tara Collins. “It’s science,” says Berger. “When you look good, you feel good, and that energy translates into your game.” From breathable, UV-protected polos to curve-friendly skorts that blend fashion and function, female-owned brands are taking a swing at industry norms. Each of these brands brings a fresh perspective to the golf world.
A. PUTNAM
Allison (Ali) Putnam, Founder & CEO
PUTNAM came from a desire to create polished, sophisticated lifestyle pieces that perform on the course and in the real world. “Our goal is to give you timeless options that fit your life so you can move confidently from travel, to the course, to the club, without sacrificing style or comfort,” said founder Ali Putnam.
The Cleveland-based brand empowers women with luxury, multi-functional apparel. “While I’m an entrepreneur at heart, I’m also a busy mom of five boys, so I appreciate garments that can flex with my day. A. PUTNAM is my way of helping women achieve that flexibility,” said Putnam.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Knowing the etiquette of the game goes a long way. Getting acquainted with the rules of the sport can counteract just about anything, including not being very good. Be a good partner. Enjoy the camaraderie. Play quickly. Have a basic understanding of the rules. One resource that we’ve found to be really helpful is Abby Liebenthal’s ‘Fore The Ladies’ clinics. They really provide all of the basics while being fun and the perfect spot to meet other people.”

AIEA Golf
AARON ARIZPE
AARON ARIZPE
Daniella Rosa, Founder
Founder Daniella Rosa grew up in the game, eventually playing competitively. Rosa’s connection to the game stuck—and led to a surprising pivot: the launch of AIEA Golf.
“I was looking for a keepsake in the Pro Shop,” recalled Rosa, “but the women’s section was filled with the usual ill-fitting tops in unappealing patterns. That’s when it clicked: women’s golf apparel hadn’t evolved.”
Today, AIEA Golf offers the looks Rosa once searched for—a mix of flattering, functional cuts and bold style that speaks to the modern woman.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “If you’re ‘golf-curious,’ I always suggest joining a social golf league at an indoor simulator center or tagging along with a friend or partner on the course—just to drive the cart and enjoy the atmosphere! And remember—don’t let anyone make you feel less than about your skills. I promise, most people are average at best, and that’s perfectly okay! Your skill level or your handicap truly does not matter. If you’re wearing something that makes you feel great, and you’re having fun, then you’re a golfer just like the rest of us.”

Ame & Lulu
Amye Kurson-Collins, Owner
Owner Amye Kurson-Collins played in a tournament with her mom and realized no one had female-focused accessories. She made her first line of headcovers in 2003.
Ame & Lulu has since expanded into tennis and pickleball, with a timeless aesthetic. “It’s your sport, and sometimes you feel better about how you’re going to play the game if you have your cute accessories or a cute sweater.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Golf can be intimidating because it’s not something you usually play growing up, but if you take lessons, it’s just like anything else. It just takes practice and a commitment to learn it and do it,” said Kurson-Collins. “You can be seven years old, or you can be seventy. That’s why I love golf, and I encourage my little girls to play because they can play their whole life.”

Beldrie
Lindley Battle
Blair Roemer, Founder
New to the golf gear game but not the sport, Blair Roemer officially launched Beldrie in June 2024. “A big reason why I started Beldrie is because I was new to golf,” said Roemer. “I felt like there was an opportunity for a brand that really fostered a community around anybody who’s new to the game, but especially women.”
Getting the fit right was no easy feat. The North Carolina-based founder wanted to ensure the collection was something all women would feel comfortable wearing. “I talked to all different types of women, and I really put that into play after I decided on the designs by having fit models that reflect the average-size woman,” said Roemer. “I think getting fit right is really the most important.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Embrace the lighter side of golf and enjoy being outside and the fact that you’re an adult playing a sport. I mean, how cool is that? Since we left school, we don’t play a lot of sports anymore,” said Roemer. “Make sure to keep a positive attitude and figure out a way to stay calm while you’re playing; I think you can literally overcome any difficult business or personal situation. Golf really tests our patience, so I would say take it easy, enjoy it, and have a glass of rosé.”

Belyn Key
Betsy Rittenhouse, Co-Founder & CEOLynne Kaltman, Co-Founder
Founded in 2016 by Betsy Rittenhouse and Lynne Kaltman, Belyn Key has become a force in women’s golf and leisure apparel.
Belyn Key prioritizes clothing that exudes confidence. According to Rittenhouse, who first took up golf over 30 years ago, the brand’s mission goes beyond apparel—it’s about supporting women to feel ready for any challenge.
Belyn Key’s designs focus on a heritage-inspired aesthetic. “Our look is more classic, tailored, and sophisticated,” said Rittenhouse. “In design, when our team develops new styles, they keep our DNA so that everything looks like Belyn Key.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Stick with it! It is such a challenging sport. Dress so that you are comfortable! Comfort helps with confidence, and you will need as much of that as possible to tackle the links.”

Birdie & Ace
BRAD OLSON
Jill Coyman, Co-OwnerAustin Ratner, Co-Owner
Co-owned by Jill Coyman and Austin Ratner, Birdie & Ace grew from Coyman’s initial crush on the game back in high school. But golf felt like a “boys’ club,” intimidating and exclusive. “I finally took lessons with a friend years later, and that’s when I really fell in love with the game,” shared Coyman.
At the heart of the brand is Birdie & Ace’s signature piece, the Everyday Tour Skort—a result of years of design and testing to perfect its movement and flattering fit. “We really wanted the quality of the fabric to be outstanding,” explained Coyman. The skort is emblematic of Birdie & Ace’s commitment to quality over quantity, ensuring each piece meets their high standards.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “You just need to take the first leap! I took my first lesson with a friend who was also new to golf! I recommend going with a friend to lessen the intimidation, plus you have someone to laugh with at all of your horrible swings. And don’t get discouraged—there are so many out there who have played for years and are still learning with every hit.”

Byrdie Golf Social Wear
Rachelle Wates, Co-Founder & CEOHayden Hendrix, Co-Founder & COO
Rachelle Wates and Hayden Shoffner’s memories of visiting the club with their grandmothers fueled their desire to build a heritage brand that embodied their dream of a “women’s course-to-cocktail collection.”
With backgrounds in luxury fashion, Wates and Shoffner translate runway trends to the fairway seamlessly in their designs. “The fun part about our design process is really tapping into that luxury background we both have—keeping up with what’s on the runway and what women are gravitating toward in ready-to-wear,” said Shoffner. Brands like Prada, Miu Miu, and Dior inspire the femininity of their brand as the two founders incorporate the latest trends into their collections.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I think the biggest thing is finding a group of girls to play with,” said Wates. “I did this with my girlfriends not too long ago. I convinced a handful of them to go to a public driving range, grab a bucket of balls, and just swing and have fun. I feel like that’s a nice little entry into the sport—just going with girls you feel comfortable with.”

CALLIOPE Golf
Cassandra (Cassy) Isaacs, Founder & CEO
Sparked by founder Cassy Isaacs’ frustration with the lack of stylish options for women, the brand set out to break the mold. “I finally said enough is enough. I couldn’t handle all the khaki and neons anymore.”
Isaacs was able to unite fashion with function, offering limited-edition, unique designs that give women the chance to feel stylish and ready for just about anything out on the green. “We want someone to see you on the course and stop you to ask where you got your outfit,” said Isaacs. “We want our clothes to set you apart… we call it ‘distinctively CALLIOPE.’”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “When I first started playing golf, I was with my husband and so nervous on the first tee. There were four guys behind us snickering, clearly annoyed to be stuck behind a woman. I crushed my drive straight down the fairway, then looked back just in time to see one of them duff his shot and not even make it past the ladies’ tees.
My advice? Go out and get an awesome group of gals together, laugh, let go, and have fun! Enjoy your time together, unwind, breathe, and SLOW DOWN. Slow your swing down, slow your tempo down, and slow life down.”

Camille Hind Golf
Camille Hind, Founder & CEO
Camille Hind (the founder) grew up surrounded by golf—her grandparents and uncle owned a golf shop, and her mom signed her and her sister up for lessons early on. “I had no say in the matter,” joked Hind.
What began as a reluctant introduction to the game eventually inspired Camille Hind Golf (the brand). Her designs feature “silently sophisticated essentials free from loud patterns, distracting logos, and garish colors.” Every piece is rigorously tested—worn on the golf course, through hikes, pickleball games, and even machine washes to ensure it performs beautifully. “I want women to experience the game peacefully and confidently,” says Hind. Feedback from TikTok videos is also incorporated into the evaluation of how her designs look in motion, with hemlines and fits tweaked to perfection.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “My first bit of advice is always to take a lesson from the local golf pro at a course near you. You can usually ask friends or family for recommendations, but if not, a quick Google search can help you pick someone out. This will help increase your confidence in learning how to navigate a driving range and understand the fundamentals of golf.
It doesn’t hurt to research the course you are going to play to ensure you follow their specific dress codes. This also helps you feel more confident knowing that you are at least dressing the part.”

Devon Halsey
Dara Tomanovich, Founder
Model and Actress Dara Tomanovich has her time on a film set to thank for her brand’s name. A pseudonym used during her travels, Devon Halsey (the name) didn’t become Devon Halsey (the golf wear brand) until COVID hit.
“Devon Halsey comes from self-awareness and self-trust,” said Tomanovich. For the Canadian-born founder, giving back to women meant giving back through meticulous design and luxurious golf apparel.
The silhouettes are sleek, and the color palette is exact. Inspired by high-fashion brands like Chanel and Valentino, Tomanovich brings the same precision to her own collections. “Women want to be seen now. We want to unveil ourselves.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “The beauty of golf is that it’s challenging every day. The only thing that is constant is change, right? So golf plays into that whole philosophy. As a person, you have to accept the unknown. I actually think that’s what keeps people coming back; it’s not the same game,” said Tomanovich. “No matter where you’re coming from, no matter how your day is going, golf is a bit of an awakening to not being bulletproof or perfect. I think golf helps people get better all around in every way—mentally, spiritually, and physically.”

Draw & Fade Modern Golf
Taylor Olson, Founder
Taylor Olson has had a club in hand as long as she can remember. Though comfortable around the game, something was missing. “Walking into pro shops, you don’t really see any women’s golf gear,” she said. “There’s always a fluorescent pink or bright pattern. It always felt very prescribed how women should be playing, right down to the tees.”
With Draw & Fade, Olson focuses on comfort and performance for all players, from beginners to pros. Comfort runs consistently through her looks. Think Coolmax polyester to combat the heat, Merino wool to protect from wind or rain, and everything made to be machine washable.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I would just say get out there. I think a lot of people focus on getting to the range, but I am a big advocate of getting out on the course itself and actually getting comfortable playing,” said Olson. “Get disconnected from everything else and just focus on you, the people that you’re playing with, being in nature, and hitting this tiny white ball into a tiny hole 500 yards away.”

ELCA Golf
Dove Clark @FlyLikeDove
Eliza Kruger, Co-Founder Carolyn Williams, Co-Founder
Elementary school teachers Eliza Kruger and Carolyn Williams picked golf back up during the pandemic, and found themselves constantly ordering and returning clothes due to ill-fitting cuts and inconsistent sizing. “After enough times complaining about golf clothes, we had the bright idea—‘Let’s design clothes we can actually golf in,’” said Kruger.
Features like eliminating back pockets, enhancing the shorts under skirts, and upgrading waistbands were given careful attention. “We just want to give women what they don’t have right now,” said Williams.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I think it’s one of those things where you have to jump in to realize it’s not as intimidating as it seems. The version of golf everyone thinks of is what they see on TV, but that’s the most serious level of the game,” said Kruger. Williams added, “Don’t feel obligated to keep score. It’s okay to laugh at yourself and your friends. We do it all the time. There’s no shame in the game.”

Ellabelle
Heidi Fioretti, Owner
Heidi Fioretti discovered the women’s section to be lacking while working as a PGA Show manager and buyer for her family’s golf course. Soon thereafter, she moved to Los Angeles to turn her dream of designing women’s golf wear into reality.
Multipurpose designs with head-turning patterns that pack a punch are a fun combination Fioretti has mastered for the past 10 years. “You just have to have confidence in your ideas and your passions,” she said.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “What I love about golf is the social aspect of it. You can go out with friends, family, or loved ones. It’s a time to connect, whether you’re walking, sitting on a golf cart, or taking time out of the day to just have fun,” said Fioretti. “What I would tell people is, if you look around at a golf course, a lot of people aren’t as good as you think they’re going to be. Take the pressure off yourself and just have fun.”

Fairway Golf Culture
Joi Stewart, Founder
“I always felt golf fashion seemed so dull. I want more than navy, white, black, and gray. Where was the orange, purple, red, gold, or pink?” Determined to shake up the style status quo, Joi Stewart started designing her own clothing line.
Stewart’s designs are often driven by inspiration sparked by a color, mood, or moment. The brand is also committed to inclusivity, offering sizing that ranges up to 5XL to ensure everyone can feel confident on the course.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I always tell people to take lessons or go to golf clinics so they can become more familiar with the game. It’s also important to go to the golf driving range or Top Golf to get a feel for the game. Golf has so many rewards once you get into it. When you’re first starting, find a cheap set of clubs from someone or check out an online marketplace. Don’t spend a bunch of money on your first set of clubs. There are always clubs available because golfers are constantly upgrading their equipment.”

FAMARA
Liz Harwood, Founder & Director
Founded by longtime golfer Liz Harwood, FAMARA came to life from her desire to make a difference in the world of golf.
Harwood tapped into her artist’s eye and began experimenting with printing her original artwork onto fabric. The result? A line of strikingly bold, modern pieces designed to help women stand out on the course. “As a woman, and with a team of women at FAMARA, we design products that work for all our customers. We know she wants to be noticed, and when she turns heads, she feels good and plays well.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Just do it. It can be intimidating, as it is still quite male-dominated. However, most clubs have initiatives to encourage women to take it up, such as golf clinics with a female pro, networking events, or going along to the driving range with a friend. It is such a curious sport, but also an inclusive one, and most people really want to help you get started with your game.”

FIAGREEN
Egor Vasilyev
Julianne Arrieta, Founder
Actress and entrepreneur Julianne Arrieta’s passion for fashion almost deterred her from golf altogether after noticing the lack of apparel for women. She founded FIAGREEN in 2023 to give women of all sizes access to high-quality, stylish activewear. Each collection evolves based on customer feedback, ensuring the designs meet real needs.
The brand sources bluesign® fabrics and upholds ethical manufacturing practices. “We work with four factories that maintain ethical and environmentally friendly standards, making a difference in every product. That’s been really, really important to us from day one,” said Arrieta.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “My advice to women interested in golf is to just go out with an open mind and a sense of adventure,” said Arrieta. “Ask friends or family members who golf to take you to the driving range, and focus on the process. Enjoy the outdoors, the camaraderie, and the unique experience, just like any other sport or activity.”

Foray
Megan LaMothe, Founder & CEO
In 2016, Megan LaMothe started Foray Golf. The name is a play on words – her daughter’s name is Rae, named after Rae’s Creek, and this company is for her. After having Rae, LaMothe felt determined to create a company that would make golf feel more inclusive. She left her job in design operations at Victoria’s Secret. You can now find the brand in pro shops, online and worn by pros.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Obviously golf is a game designed for people who thrive with pressure and anxiety— but obviously (and annoyingly) it’s best played when you don’t let those kinds of emotions take over,” Lamothe says. “So, find just one thing, a rock, that you can rely on that will give you a bit of confidence. It can be one particular club, part of your game that you like, or it can be the outfit or shoes you wear. For example, I call my 7-iron “my boyfriend”. He’s predictable and safe but I love him for that— I know I can make a good swing and I know how far the ball will go. When all else fails, this one thing can be the light in the storm.”

Fore All
Michelle Baughan Photography
Michelle Baughan Photography
Jen Clyde, Co-Founder & CEOMichelle Money-Weir, Co-Founder
After receiving nonstop messages from an Instagram reel they posted of themselves playing golf, blasting music, and having fun, the pair realized they weren’t the only ones who liked this casual form of golf. Worldwide Golf partnered with Clyde and Money-Weir to create a line of stylish golf gear for women. “They saw the community that we were building and the passion women had for the game,” said Money-Weir. “They trusted us.”
Sizes range from XS to XXL in standout prints with reasonable price tags that beg you to take a swing at golf, even if only to wear Fore All.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “As a beginner, you’re forced into this intimidating space. Golf is really hard to break into because it can feel like there’s always someone pushing you through. It’s really hard to let yourself get comfortable and play at a pace that works for you. We actually just developed a sweater that says ‘Get Off My Back’ for that reason,” said Money-Weir.
“Go have fun with your girlfriends. Take the kids on golf trips and see how cool it is to learn a sport together,” adds Clyde. “That’s the thing about Michelle and me—we always know how to have a good time on the course, and that’s how it should be.”

Goldie Byrd
Julia Roper, Co-FounderArielle Solheim, Co-Founder
Founded in 2023 by Arielle Solheim, the great-granddaughter of Karsten Solheim, founder of PING, grew up immersed in golf but only started playing seriously during the pandemic. “I truly never realized how few options there were for women’s golf clothing.”
Julia Roper, whose fashion marketing background includes brands like Revolve, Beyond Yoga, and Fabletics, joined Solheim in 2021. Together, the pair set out to design stylish yet functional golf apparel for women.
“We pull inspiration from vintage pieces, analyze the market, and make sure every fit, fabric, and style is perfect through customer feedback,” said Solheim.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Take a golf lesson or head to the course with a friend or family member who knows what they’re doing and is excited to show you the ropes! Ask questions about the rules, etiquette, and, of course, your swing. From there, it’s just a matter of repetition. The more you get out there, the more comfortable you’ll be. We promise once you start seeing progress, you’ll understand the obsession!”

Golftini
Susan Hess, Founder & Designer
Founder and designer Susan Hess was introduced to golf by her grandparents. “They taught me how to play when I was young. They were my role models.”
It was the lack of stylish options for women that teed off her entrepreneurial journey.
Her design process starts with reviewing runway trends, then refining her pieces for real-world wearability. “I ask myself, ‘If I had to go straight from the course to dinner, would I still feel good?’ If the answer is no, it doesn’t make the cut.”
Golftini is also committed to giving back, donating a portion of all sales to breast cancer research through its partnership with the American Cancer Society.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I have new golfer friends from all over. It’s definitely intimidating. But what isn’t? Anything outside of your comfort zone feels this way. Reach out to a girlfriend who knows the game and have her teach you the etiquette, when to ‘pick up,’ and how to play fast! Most importantly, don’t forget to smile, laugh, and enjoy the best parts of the game!”

WESTON WELLS
Alexander Taylor
Meagan Ouderkirk, Co-Founder Antonia DiPaolo, Co-Founder
“Both Antonia and I could never find any options that were flattering and in our style, so we decided to create our own,” said Meagan Ouderkirk. The two sought inspiration in, where else, the closet. “We asked ourselves what it was about these particular pieces that made them so timeless and comfortable. We took elements of those and put them into basics for our first collection in technical fabrics.”
Recognizing the vast differences in women’s bodies, the two set out to design sportswear that looks good on everyone.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “We know a lot of women who won’t play just because they don’t like the clothing options. When I first learned the sport, my husband put me in very long shorts and a boxy polo. I swore I’d never go out in that again,” said Ouderkirk. “We hope that our collection offers women choices that make them feel confident and beautiful out on the course. Because even if your swing isn’t good, you can still look good doing it.”

Honors
Amy Anderson, Co-Founder & CMOHuntley Rodes, Co-Founder & Co-CEOJenna Walter, Co-Founder & Co-CEO
The name Honors is more than just a label—it’s a tribute to the sport and the women who play it. Founded by three friends, Amy Anderson, Huntley Rodes, and Jenna Walter, the brand took shape during a post-round conversation over beers and pizza. “Even Jenna, who played DI golf, pointed out that outfit options for women hadn’t really evolved since we were kids,” Anderson recalled.
“We ended up creating a line for the sport of life,” Anderson explained. Honors blends modern, classic designs with functional materials, creating buildable, interchangeable pieces that transition seamlessly throughout the day.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Just get out there! Find people you feel comfortable playing with, and don’t take yourself too seriously. At its core, golf is a great opportunity to spend 2–4 hours hanging out with friends, enjoying the outdoors, and moving your body. And rest assured, even seasoned golfers hit balls into the woods, land in the sand, and sometimes even miss the ball altogether!”

Jayebird Sport
Katie Byrnes, Founder
Katie Byrnes dreamed of creating her own golf line, but it wasn’t until she moved to Hong Kong that she finally had the chance to make Jayebird Sport a reality. “Being close to manufacturing and having access to top design talent allowed me to dive in and bring the vision to life,” Byrnes explained.
Each piece features luxurious details rarely seen in sportswear, offering versatility so women can feel confident wearing Jayebird both on and off the course. The thoughtfully curated designs combine fun prints with core essentials in navy and white, giving women countless options to mix and match.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Find a friend who’s also interested in learning and join a beginner’s clinic together! There are so many fantastic groups designed to encourage women to get into golf, and the supportive environment can make a big difference. Look for one nearby and just give it a go—you might be surprised by how fun and welcoming it can be!”

Lisa O’Hurley, Founder & CEO
LOHLA SPORT founder Lisa O’Hurley played college golf and went on to become an executive at Golf Channel and worked for European golf sportswear company, Golfino. She founded LOHLA SPORT in 2020 with longtime friend and designer Paul Rees.
Described as “European Design for the American sporting lifestyle,” O’Hurley’s expertise as a golfer blends with Rees’ background in luxury design to create a line that values both form and fashion. “There’s a reason that the word ‘golf’ is not in the brand name—it is a sportswear lifestyle brand, and everything has to be functional just for your daily life,” said O’Hurley.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “First of all, the buddy system works really well. It doesn’t matter how old you are, to be honest. If you’re starting at age 12 or you’re starting at age 50, it’s great to start with a friend,” said O’Hurley. “Then, of course, it’s also important to take lessons. The PGA of America Golf Professionals, men and women alike, are there to help. Starting out with a good set of lessons will lay the foundation for where you’re gonna go with the game.”

Mumford Golf
Calla Mumford, Founder
The first time Calla Mumford played golf with her boyfriend, she asked him, “What should I wear?” He gave the same answer many women have heard: khakis.
“I laughed so hard,” said Mumford. “I was like, ‘Sweetheart, I wear color! I wear bold. I wear furry coats, and I love fashion.’”
Founded in New York, Mumford Golf was built to empower women out on the course by way of dress. Steering clear of fast-fashion, Mumford focused on long-lasting, high-performing pieces built to be worn again and again. “There’s no reason to sacrifice femininity for form and function. We can have it all.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “If you’re looking to take up the sport, just go do it. I would love it if you wear Mumford, but you don’t need a fancy outfit. Wear something that makes you feel good. Take a deep breath, and don’t take yourself so seriously.”

Pirdie Golf
Kelley Holderman
Kelley Holderman
Kelley Holderman, Co-Founder & CEO Kendra Nash, Co-Founder Jaimee Newcomer, Co-Founder
Pirdie Golf brings playful West Coast-inspired designs to the course while empowering women to embrace the game on their own terms.
Founded by friends Kelley Holderman, Kendra Nash, and Jaimee Newcomer, Pirdie was born out of a love for golf, and…the shared frustration with the lack of stylish, functional options for women. The trio spent two years perfecting fabrics and fits that flatter every body type while offering performance-driven features like hidden pockets. “We wanted to create clothing that feels feminine, honors the dress code, and can transition beyond the course,” Holderman shared.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “First, I want women to know that we’ve all been there. It’s helpful to remember that you can start playing golf at any point in life—not everyone on the course grew up playing or had access to lessons. Interestingly, once I started playing more, I realized that many of the men I thought were highly skilled were just dressed the part, and they weren’t much better than I was. This isn’t meant to knock our male friends, but for some reason, I found that incredibly reassuring. It made me realize I belonged on the course just as much as anyone else!”

Prio Golf
Sammy Berger, Co-Founder Tara Collins, Co-Founder
Founders Sammy Berger and Tara Collins were inspired by Gloria Minoprio. The legend made a name for herself at the 1933 English Ladies Championship at Royal North Devon Golf Club—not just for playing with only one club, but for breaking the sartorial rules of the time by wearing trousers. Fast forward nearly a century, Berger and Collins have managed to harness Minoprio’s rebellious spirit in Prio Golf.
Form and function are friends in their designs, with pockets galore, flattering hemlines, and amble, stretchy fabrics. “At our core, we want to help gals feel comfortable and confident to get out on the course wearing modern and relevant golf clothing.” With a clean color palette and timeless aesthetic, Prio Golf is for the no-fuss golfer.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I’ve been playing golf for 20 years, and I still get nervous on the first hole,” said Berger. “The best piece of advice would be just to be aware. Read the pace of play, understand what’s going on around you, and try to pick up cues from other people. She recommends playing in a group so you have people help guide you every step of the way.”

Renwick Sport
Philippa Kennedy, Co-Founder & CEOSarah Morse, Co-Founder & President
The Renwick sisters spent much of their childhood on the course with their parents. The founders loved the game but not the selection of clubwear for women.
“Men had these polos they could wear to work, then straight to the course or out for drinks—something missing from women’s apparel,” said Renwick Co-Founder and CEO Philippa Kennedy.
The duo’s extensive backgrounds in corporate retail—J. Crew, One Kings Lane, and Vineyard Vines–shaped their brand’s aesthetic, lending a classic yet adaptable look. “We can leave the course and run to the pickup line, head to the playground, or hop on a Zoom call. We want our pieces to work throughout the day,” said Morse.
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Golf can be intimidating, so we try not to take ourselves too seriously. It’s a difficult game, even for the best players,” said Morse. “We always say: take a cart if you want, make a cocktail, pick up your ball, or skip a hole. It’s a social sport.”

Bonny Riddle, Co-Founder Michelle Anderson, Co-Founder
When it came to designing golf apparel for women, the phrase “pink it and shrink it” didn’t sit well with Sierra Madre Golf founders Bonny Riddle and Michelle Anderson. The Austin-based founders centered women in their designs to produce wearable clothes that, in turn, made golf more approachable. For Riddle, “Women should never be an afterthought.”
A shared passion for finance and fashion design sparked the launch of Sierra Madre. Think retro 60s, 70s, and 80s clubwear with a twist, the duo calls “golf cowgirl.” “Combining functionality with style speaks to your confidence,” said Anderson. “You need to feel confident within yourself to have any sort of confidence in your game.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I started playing with just one club. You don’t need all the gear. You just need a little bit of courage to go out there,” said Riddle. “Whether you’re on the driving range or putting green, no one’s paying attention to you. Honestly, everybody’s thinking about their own game.”

Julie Anderson’s father, Steven James, was a club pro who introduced her—and countless others—to the sport. “I’m grateful for the lessons on and off the course. I have my dad to thank for it all.”
Named after her 11-year-old niece, Sydney James officially launched on December 7, 2022, on what would have been her father’s 70th birthday. “It was a way to honor him and continue his legacy of getting as many people into golf as possible.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “I recommend finding a community of other like-minded women where you feel safe asking questions and inspired to keep progressing. In NYC, LA, Chicago, and Denver, we host weekly Swing Sessions, which are a great way for women to learn golf alongside female instructors and other women, building a community both on and off the course. Bottom line: Golf is a lifelong game. Approach it with patience and play in a way that works for your game.”

Victoria Paulsen
Victoria Paulsen, Founder & CEO
With a background in fashion, Paulsen launched her brand to meet the needs of women golfers at every level. When she’s not designing, Paulsen also works a full-time role as a global sample manager at COS, keeping close to her fashion roots. “My goal is to inspire and empower women to take up golf by showing them they can look great while playing, too. I design pieces that are functional for the course but stylish enough to wear in everyday life, blending street style with golf-ready comfort.”
Best advice for beginner golfers: “Golf is such a great sport for women because it’s something you can play at any age and any skill level. It’s also a fantastic workout, and you can enjoy it with your partner, which makes it really social. If you’re new to golf, I’d suggest starting with some lessons. You could ask a friend who plays, book a session with a golf pro, or even try out a local driving range. It might feel intimidating at first, but everyone starts somewhere.”
