The LPGA, which celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025, released its schedule Wednesday for the upcoming year, featuring 33 official events and a total prizemoney payout of more than $US131 million (approximately $201m), an all-time high.

The schedule starts two weeks later than it did in 2024 – giving players a bit more time to rest and recover in the offseason – and will make stops in 14 states and 11 other countries. The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions remains the kickoff event, set for late January at Lake Nona in Orlando. Two new tournaments officially come online: the Black Desert Championship in Utah in May and then three weeks later the Riviera Maya Open in Cancun as the tour returns to Mexico for the first time since 2017.

The 2025 schedule also sees the return of the Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown, with eight countries competing in the four-player team event in South Korea in October, coinciding with the LPGA’s fall Asia swing.

Five majors are up for grabs next year, collectively offering a total purse of $US47.8 million with the US Women’s Open leading the way at $12 million. It’ll be held at Erin Hills in Wisconsin from May 29-June 1. The KPMG Women’s PGA will be held June 19-22 at Fields Ranch East in Frisco, Texas, (adjacent to the PGA of America’s new headquarters) with the Amundi Evian Championship back July 10-13 at France’s Evian Resort. The AIG Women’s Open heads to Wales for the first time and will be staged at Royal Porthcawl from July 31-August 3.

The overall prizemoney payout on the LPGA Tour is up more than $US62 million (90 percent) from four years ago. For the 2025 season, non-major purses total more than $83 million, up from $45.8 million in 2021.

“The 2024 season was another year of historic growth for the LPGA Tour, and with this 2025 schedule we will continue to improve on that growth,” said LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan in a press release.

“This schedule is highlighted by two exciting new events, a new multi-year title for the longest-running non-major tournament on the LPGA Tour, even higher purse sizes, increased benefits that will enhance the athlete experience, improved geographical flow and a longer off-season that will give our athletes a well-deserved rest after their tremendous work in 2024.”

Non-major purses total more than $83 million. Nine events have released higher purses than in 2024. Sixteen events have purses of at least $3 million and 24 events have announced that they’ll provide travel stipends, free accommodations or minimum payouts even if a cut is missed. The CME Group Tour Championship, which announced an extension through 2027 for CME Group to remain the title sponsor, will continue to be the biggest non-major purse at $11 million with $4 million going to the winner, as is the case this week at Tiburon Golf Club.

The Founders Cup, played in May in New Jersey this year, has moved to Bradenton in February, essentially replacing the Drive On Championship from 2024. However, Cognizant is no longer scheduled to sponsor the event. The Dana Open at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio, is also not on the 2025 schedule. Chanettee Wannasaen won that event this year.

The LPGA will announce its broadcast schedule early next year.
