No, Alanis Morisette will not be the headline act for LIV Golf’s first ever “Après Golf” concert at Centurion Club in London later this week. But one of the revealed musical acts is equally as ironic as rain on your wedding day. Or a traffic jam when you’re already late.
If you’re wondering what we’re even talking about, the first-ever LIV event set to begin on Thursday will feature a number of new, unique fan activities, including a Metaverse Tent, a Kids Zone featuring face painting and “crazy golf” putting challenges, and the aforementioned “Après Golf” concert, which is free to all general admission ticket holders.
On Tuesday (AEST), LIV unveiled the musical lineup for all three nights, culminating with England’s own Jessie J on Saturday at 9:15pm. Why is that of note? Because one of Jessie J’s biggest hits is called “Price Tag”, in which she literally sings the words “it’s not about the money, money”. I wish I was making this up:
And some more of the lyrics below to really drive the metaphor home:
Surprisingly, LIV did make mention of “Price Tag” as one of Jessie J’s chart-topping singles in the press release, though we’d imagine Jessie J is going to leave that one off the actual set list. Then again, it would be a tough look to not hear what’s probably her most well-known song at LIV’s first-ever “Après Golf” concert. A true conundrum in a sea of conundrums at Centurion.
The rest of the musical line-up includes fellow Brits, James Morrison, James Bay, John Newman and Craig David. Melanie C, an English DJ, will open for Jessie J on Saturday evening.
