Mollymook’s Kelsey Bennett has moved up to third on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit as an 11-year record held by Kiwi Lydia Ko fell at the PIF London Championship.
Canadian Anna Huang held off home favourite Charley Hull to record a two-stroke win at the Centurion Club, Bennett finishing outright fifth with a closing round of 5-under 68, her third top-five finish to go with her maiden win at the Australian Women’s Classic.
For 17-year-old Huang, it was her fourth LET win in the past 11 months, surpassing Ko’s record as the youngest-ever player to win four LET titles that stood at 18 years, four months and 20 days.

Huang had top-10 finishes at both the Ford Women’s NSW Open and Australian Women’s Classic during the LET’s four-leg Australian swing in March and was also tied 17th at the women’s Australian Open.
Out in 2-under 35, Bennett cashed in on Centurion Club’s three par 5s in the final six holes, making birdie on all three along with one at the par-3 17th to match her 68 from Round 1 and move past Ford Women’s NSW Open champion Agathe Laisne into third on the season-long points standings.
Bennett’s was not the only Aussie top 10 in Europe this past week with New South Welshman Daniel Gale recording his first top 10 on the HotelPlanner Tour.
The two-time Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia winner went sub 70 in all four rounds of the Scottish Challenge supported by The R&A to finish at 12-under and in a tie for eighth, his best result since losing in a playoff to Cameron John at The National Tournament.
A missed cut at the Wyndham Championship saw Jason Day’s 18-year FedEx Cup Playoffs streak come to an end, Min Woo Lee, Adam Scott and Open champion Ryan Fox the only Australasian players to advance having finished inside the top 70.
