Justin Thomas wins $1,000 bet with Max Homa and Jordan Spieth with first ace of the 2026 Masters Par-3 Contest

Wednesday afternoon at Augusta National is special. Families gather both inside and outside the ropes for the annual Par-3 Contest, which finds the Masters at its most laid back and jovial. Occasionally, the relaxed spring vibes are punctuated with a roar as one of the many “competitors,” if you want to call them that, jars an ace at Augusta National’s recently remodeled short course.

This year, the honors went to Justin Thomas, who kicked off the festivities before the lunch hour was even up with an ace on the second hole of his round. Check it out.

The ace was Thomas’ second in his career at the Par-3 Contest (his first coming in 2016), and the first at the par-3 course’s second hole since 2019.

The scene after Thomas’ hole-in-one was almost better than ace itself, however. Thomas wheeled around to his playing partners, Max Homa and Jordan Spieth, and hit them with the Money Manziel fingers in response to an apparent ace wager between the trio. Adorably, Thomas’ daughter Molly interrupted the celebration to help ferry his wedge back to his bag, as any good looper should.

Here’s hoping Molly gets a big tip from pops after round, because as Thomas explained soon after, his wallet is now a $1,000 heavier thanks to Homa and Spieth.
