Jordan Spieth is used to leading tournaments. By February, he may be leading a different charge.

Despite his relative young age, Spieth was picked to run for chairman of the Player Advisory Council. The three-time Major winner will run against Billy Hurley III for the position, currently held by Davis Love III. The two were selected by the current directors of the tour’s Policy Board.

The election will end on February 13, with the winner assuming a three-year term.

Along with Spieth and Hurley, other players on the Player Advisory Council include Player of the Year Justin Thomas, Paul Casey, Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson, Geoff Ogilvy and Daniel Berger.

The purpose of the PAC is to advise and consult with the board of directors and commissioner Jay Monahan on issues affecting the tour.
