It’s the golf crossover you didn’t know you needed: NRL pin-up boy Reece Walsh hitting the fairways with mullet-swinging major champ Cam Smith at Wantima Country Club — and let’s just say one of them looked like they actually belonged there.
In a freshly dropped YouTube vid, Walsh — better known for slicing defences than wedges — takes on nine holes with Smith at his home course in Brissy’s north. There were laughs, a few bombs, and more shanks than a prison riot.
Cam – a noted Broncos fan and clearly thriving back on his old stomping ground – was pure silk. Walsh? Not so much. The young Bronco has a golf swing that’d give most coaches a nervous twitch — but full points for style and enthusiasm.

“I’ve never felt this nervous, even before a footy game!” Walsh said on the first tee.
The fourth hole served up the shot of the day: Smith’s approach spun back like a yo-yo, while Walsh’s ball nearly took out a kookaburra. By the turn, the scoreboard might’ve looked lopsided, but the banter was dead even.
There were club tosses, sneaky sledges, and a running commentary that proves Walsh should consider golf content full-time when the hammies go. “Just missed it… by a couple hundred metres,” he laughs after one particularly rogue tee shot.

To his credit, Walsh started finding a bit of rhythm by the back end, even draining a cheeky putt that gave Cam a brief scare. “I’ll take that to the bank!” he chirped — and fair enough.
The vibe? Mates having a crack. A Broncos star humbling himself in Cam’s backyard. And a walk ‘round Wantima that’ll give Aussie golf fans plenty of laughs — and a reminder that not all elite athletes can stripe it.
