The LPGA is back in action this week, starting its season in Florida with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Thirty-nine players will compete for the $2.1 million purse at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando with the winner taking home $315,000 for a victory.

It’s a winner’s only event, but remember, there were a lot of different winners (29) on the LPGA in 2025. That means that this year’s field is the largest in the tournament’s history with 39 players, who will be paired alongside celebrities competing in their own modified Stableford tournament. Annika Sorenstam is playing in the celebrity field.

A Lim Kim is the defending champion in a stacked field that included 16 of the top 25 players in the world. Leading that group is Jenno Thitikul (1), Nelly Korda (2), Miyu Yamashita (4), Charley Hull (5) and Lydia Ko (6). Thitikul is clearly the best player in the world by far and captured the CME Globe Championship last November in Naples.

“I feel like this week is kind of a warm-up week for us but it’s not warm for the weather,” Thitikul said, referring to weather that’s supposed to be in the mid-20s on the weekend.

There are seven participants in the field who are members at Lake Nona, including Ko. There are also 12 first-time participants and seven players in the field were rookies last year who won on tour.
