The LPGA is back in the U.S. after a two-month hiatus, the tour playing three events in Asia during that stretch. This week it’s at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship at Palos Verdes Golf Club in California, the first of three events out west.

It’s the third consecutive year the LPGA has stopped at this golf course, although the name of the championship changed for 2024. The total purse is $2 million, with the winner earning $300,000 for her victory.

This year ithe event is named after the investment firm sponsor and Pak, an inductee into the 2007 World Golf and LPGA Halls of Fame after winning 25 times on tour before retiring back in 2016. She won five majors, including the historic 1998 U.S. Women’s Open when she was only 20.

Last year 20-year-old Ruoning Yin earned her first LPGA victory, he first of two wins in the year that moved her to World No. 1 for a stretch.

Yin, Nelly Korda and Charlie Hull are among those in contention after three rounds.
