The last two weeks on the LPGA have been exciting with Nelly Korda winning both a major and then the following week in Mexico.
This week the tour heads to New Jersey for the Mizuho Americas Open, where Michelle Wie West is the playing host in an event that features 120 players with 24 of the best junior golfers.
Everyone is playing for the $3.25 million purse at Mountain Ridge Country Club with the winner taking home $487,500 for a victory. World No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul is the defending champion.
Wie West announced last month that she’ll play in the U.S. Women’s Open at Riviera next month so she’s using this week as a chance to shake off some rust. She hasn’t played an event in three years.
Last year Thitikul played the last 27 holes bogey free to top Celine Boutier by four shots. She went on to win two more times after this last year. Korda is not playing this week but 22 of the top 25 players in the world are participating.
