It’s AIG Women’s British Open week at Royal Porthcawl, but we’re still talking about Grace Kim’s incredible win at the Evian. It was only two weeks ago that Kim hit a hybrid to a foot on the final hole of regulation to force a playoff with Jeeno Thitikul. She then holed out an improbable chip for birdie on the first playoff hole. And drained a 10-footer for eagle on the second playoff hole to secure the win. If we were her, we’d be watching video of that sequence of events over and over again, too.
But the video Kim talked about watching in her Women’s British Open press conference is one that we hadn’t seen. It comes from Golf Australia, and shows the reactions of Kim’s fellow Aussie LPGA players. Their reactions are appropriately spirited, and not G-rated.

The best is the kangaroo being put over Stephanie Kyriacou’s mouth as she screams out joyous profanities. That’s Minjee Lee standing behind Kyriacou, celebrating Kim’s chip-in.
The group of Australian LPGA players is a tight-knit one.
“Most countries are very jealous of our camaraderie and our friendship,” Kim said. “Being an Aussie is very cool, and being part of this friendship group is also cool as well. We get along well, we banter, and we don’t take it to heart. I think that’s why it’s just that bonding is very strong.”
Seeing as half of that video was bleeps to cover up her countrywomen’s response to her chip in, Kim is right. Being a part of the Australian LPGA crew seems like an ideal place to be.
