Plot Twist of the Century
A few weeks ago, LPGA star Charley Hull found herself in hot water after revealing that she pranked her longtime caddie Adam Woodward into believing he had won $100,000 on a lottery ticket at the AIG Women’s British Open. Hull laughed about the prank to a room full of shocked reporters, who clearly didn’t find the gambit quite as funny.
“He’s literally running around the player’s lounge saying, ‘I’ve won £100,000. I’m taking today off.’ He couldn’t believe his luck, and we had to tell him it was fake and he nearly quit the job,” Hull said, laughing. “Now I have to have my back up because I don’t know what he’s going to do to me for payback.”
Many golf fans felt the joke crossed a line. After all, Woodward earns only a fraction of what Hull does, and how would you feel if your boss pranked you with a big raise? Still, Hull doubled down, telling reporters that “if people don’t like it, they can lump it.”
This week it was Good Good Golf’s turn to play the old fake-winner’s-check trick, but clearly they learned from Hull’s faux pas, constructing perhaps the best plot twist in YouTube golf history along the way. We highly suggest you watch this one until the end before we spoil it.

All caught up? Good, so by now you know that the plan to prank Matt Scharff into thinking he won $25,000 just before the birth of his first child was in fact a double cross by Garrett Clark and Scharff on the rest of the group. As Scharff dramatically stormed off after being informed it was all a prank, the rest group was wracked with guilt and regret. Scharff later called an emergency meeting at HQ where clearly some members of the team thought he might quit. Instead, it was revealed that the whole thing was a prank on them, especially Stephen Castenada, who was on course for a career-best round before taking a dive to let Scharff “win.”
“I literally threw my four-under FOR A PRANK!?” he shouted. “I hit three balls OB … FOR FUN!?”
Of course, as Castenada should already know, in the world of YouTube golf, anything goes in the name of The Bit.
