Let’s address this now: Jake Staiano and Vince India, the two Korn Ferry Tour pros who were suspended by the PGA Tour for gambling, broke a rule, and breaking rules come with consequences. That has sadly become a foreign principle in the year 2023, as evidenced by the cries of “everybody is doing it!” whenever the cheating scandal du jour is in the news. Not naming names (Michigan).

Having said that, there is always room for discussion and debate when it comes to the punishment not fitting the crime. That seems to be the case with Staiano and India, who were suspended three and six months, respectively, for violating betting rules within the tour’s “Integrity Program.” It just so happens that those suspensions coincide with PGA Tour Q School taking place over the next handful of months, a key time for aspiring PGA Tour pros like Staiano and India.

On this week’s episode of The Loop podcast, which you can listen to in full below, we point out the myriad reasons this punishment was far too harsh. We also spoke to golf’s newest world-record holder, Patrick Koenig, and we reveal the secret to one of our host’s recent success on the golf course.
