We understand the unquenchable thirst for new gear better than most. There’s the FOMO that comes with missing out on the next big thing. There’s the endorphin rush of waiting for FedEx to show up on otherwise mundane weekday morning. There’s that sneaking suspicion deep in the back of your head that you’re not the reason you suck, your clubs are. We get it. We’ve been there. But we’re going to let you in on a little secret:

Used gear can be pretty cool too.

We know, we know. Shocking, controversial, incendiary … but it’s true. Just take this golfer’s recent purchase for example. They recently bought a used Sun Mountain C-130 golf bag at Goodwill for $7 dollars (take that inflation!). From the looks of things, it’s not the newest model and could certainly use a deep clean, but when this golfer opened up the side pocket, they discovered a surprising bonus [warning, some NSFW language follows]:

Apparently when the previous owner decided to hawk the bag, they forgot about the bottle of Fireball they stashed in the event of a fateful birdie that never came. Now that quest is passed down to this guy, who has two options as we see it:

1. Drink it, enjoy it, savor one of life’s rare something-for-nothing deals.

2. Put it back in that pocket, play the bag for a year or two and then sell it, passing on the bottle to the next generation.

It’s a tough call, but we say pay it forward. With a little help from Mistress Karma, the next bag this guy buys might have a bottle of Macallan in it.
