Gather ’round, kids, because boy do we have a love story to tell. Or, rather, James Nitties does.
The former PGA Tour pro from Newcastle, and current PGA Tour LIVE broadcaster, hopped on this week’s Eis On Golf podcast with Jeff Eisenband and shared an all-time tale about meeting his future wife. It involves going on a blind double date with his caddie and something Nitties has dubbed the “kangaroo switcheroo”. Yep, we think you know where this is going.
“She was like, ‘Funny story, I like James and my friend likes you,'” Nitties recalls. “So long story short, it was the kangaroo switcheroo. We called it [that] for a long time. She was in my phone as Katie Switcheroo for a long time.”

What an amazing story. That could have been an episode of “How I Met Your Mother”. You know, before they ruined it with that depressing ending.
As Nitties notes, it was a happy ending for him as he’s still married to the lovely lady who initiated the ol’ switcheroo after that first date. She goes by Katie Nitties now, though we’re not sure how James has her listed in his phone. As for his caddie and the other woman?
“That didn’t last very long,” Nitties said. Ouch.
But wait! “He is married with a kid, though,” Nitties added. “So he is very happy. So it all worked out, it was meant to be.”
Indeed, it was. And if there’s ever a golf sitcom, this is the perfect plot for the pilot.
