Brett Ogle recently turned to Honolulu, nearly 23 years after his Hawaiian Open victory – the second of his two career titles on the US PGA Tour.

The lanky and likeable Australian pro visited Waialae Country Club, where the now-named Sony Open in Hawaii tees off tomorrow morning, Australian time, and posed for a couple of photos beside the club’s Wall of Champions.

In ’94, 29-year-old Ogle shot rounds of 66-66-69-68 to finish 19-under, a stroke ahead of Davis Love III and three clear of John Huston, earning $US216,000. Craig Parry shared sixth place at 13-under.

Seven Australians are in this year’s field: Steven Bowditch, Greg Chalmers, Marc Leishman, Rod Pampling, Cameron Percy, John Senden and Cameron Smith. Since Ogle’s victory, four different Aussies have finished second at the Sony (Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddeley, Adam Scott and Robert Allenby) but Ogle remains the most recent Down Under victor.
