First-tee starters at pro golf tournaments make mistakes.

When Jason Day stepped to the first tee of the BMW Championship, it probably never crossed his mind that his name could get announced wrong. After all, Day is the defending champ of the event and oh yeah, the top-ranked golfer on the planet. But then, this happened:

Jordan Day? The World No.1 gave a quick stunned reaction before rolling with it. And to be fair, at least the starter mixed up a pair of names starting with the letter “J” and didn’t refer to the Aussie as something like Rory Day. Although, Day wasn’t even paired with defending FedEx Cup champ Jordan Spieth in the first round.

Day got off to a rough start as well, bogeying the first two holes at Crooked Stick. Sounds like the Americans may have found a ploy to throw him off his game at the next Presidents Cup.
