This is a no-lose situation. You get to tee off at one of the best golf courses in the United States while giving a student out a better chance to get into the college of their choice. That’s a real Butterfly Effect scenario, and all you have to do is pony up some money and chop it around Winged Foot.

The First Tee of Metropolitan New York is in the middle of a silent auction—featuring rounds at Oakmont, Winged Foot, Deepdale, The Creek, Liberty National and many more—with every penny going directly to its Path to College program. As of this story’s publishing, the prices range from $750 to $3,000, so you might want to get a bid in before it ends on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 10 p.m.

As you likely know, the grind and know-how needed to get into college only gets more difficult and this program has become critical in providing students with the skills they need to understand the ever-changing process. The 2023 Path to College helped over 200 students, with nearly half recruited from local community outreach programs. A staggering 97 percent of those involved “demonstrated significant increase in core academic subjects,” and the program has had a 100 percent graduation rate since 2014.

So, what have we learned here? Take a look at this Silent Auction and you can get a crack at the home of the 2025 U.S. Open. We can’t guarantee that you’ll play well, but you’ll certainly be helping kids around New York. Sounds like a winning round before you even tee off.
