Three men moved into the top 30, meaning 30 moved out. It was Gary Woodland, Patrick Cantlay and Robert MacIntyre who all moved in via their respective finishes Sunday at the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club outside St. Louis. Kurt Kitayama, Rickie Fowler and Bud Cauley all dropped outside the magic number and their respective seasons are complete.
Wyndham Clark started the day with a huge lead but it evaporated when he was not able to make a single birdie in the first 15 holes. Cantlay and Rory McIlroy, among others, all were immediately in contention. But Clark birdied each of the last three holes to slam the door shut and top Cantlay by three shots. It seems there may now be a conversation about who the PGA Tour Player of the Year will be, with Clark now collecting three wins this year, including the US Open.
Anyway, we’re down to one final event for all of the proverbial marbles in a town they call Hot-lanta this time of year. There’s plenty up for grabs and here are the 30 who will be competing.
