On Wednesday, Rory McIlroy unveiled his much-anticipated 2026 Masters Champions Dinner menu. McIlroy spoke at length about how he didn’t want to go with a theme for his inaugural dinner and hoped to serve a meal everyone could enjoy … well, everyone except Dan Orlovsky.

On a Wednesday edition of SportsCenter, the ESPN NFL analyst—a notoriously picky eater who once revealed on live TV that he enjoys plain, unseasoned chicken breast—declared that he would eat just “one thing” off McIlroy’s menu. Nevermind the fact that the Augusta National culinary team flew to New York City to learn how to prepare the tuna carpaccio from three-Michelin-Star restaurant Le Bernandin. Forget that the bacon wrapped dates are a specialty of McIlroy’s mother, Rosie. The only thing Orlovsky would even consider was the filet, and you better bet he’s not touching those brussels sprouts.

“Here’s my problem with people in the food world,” Orlovsky explained to a stunned Kevin Neghandi. “Just make a good cheese pizza flatbread. It doesn’t have to be peaches and ricotta. I’ve got a lot of love for Rory. I’m a huge Rory fan. I love Rory. But peach and ricotta?? Just give me a good cheese pizza!”

As a reformed picky eater in my youth, I would strongly encourage Orlovsky to broaden his culinary horizons. Especially since he spends a great deal of time at ESPN’s New York City HQ, where seemingly every block is home to food that will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about what you liked. That said, Orlovsky is right about one thing: There is still nothing better than a really good cheese pizza, and even the most hardened New York food snob would agree.
