Tucked into a part of the Queensland coast sheltered by Fraser Island and the Inskip Peninsula, Tin Can Bay oozes fun and charm.

Tin Can Bay is a friendly town with lots of hidden gems, located in the coastal playground and the southern gateway to K’Gari, Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. To add to the charm, it’s one of only two places in Queensland where you can hand-feed a dolphin. K’gari Fraser Island is also a firm favourite for the shy dugong (Australian sea cow) and with more than 140 species of birdlife choosing to call this place home, it’s also a great spot for a bit of bird watching.

On the way into town you will see the popular Tin Can Bay Country Club. Celebrating 50 years of golf this December, the club has an 18-hole, 5,666-metre, par-72 course that is rich with nature and purpose. With a new course superintendent, there is a renewed passion to improve and refresh the facilities, and to keep the course looking like the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the population. It is a leafy course, with gentle undulations and generous fairways. It is easy walking for all ages, user-friendly but with some challenges. The aim is to ensure that all standards of golfer walk off the course with fond memories and to come back for another round.

The course hosts memorable charity and corporate days, as well as regularly accommodating social groups of up to 120 players.

The club is a great social venue, so after a challenging game, enjoy a cold drink at the on-site clubhouse or a meal in the restaurant that overlooks the fairways and greens. You can choose to dine inside the air-conditioned restaurant or outside on the open-air verandah as well as take advantage of the other gaming and club facilities, including lawn bowls, Keno and poker machines.

The club is committed to growth and to being an integral part of the community, where it gives back to local charities and the area’s schools.

Get away from the busy suburban courses and head up to the beautiful Cooloola Coast to relax and unwind at beautiful Tin Can Bay Country Club.
