Preparations are underway for the 2019 Centara World Masters Golf Championship after a resoundingly successful celebration of golf and entertainment at this year’s event in Thailand.

The fifth edition of the Centara World Masters attracted more than 500 golfers from 27 countries to the sophisticated seaside setting of Hua Hin for the biggest tournament for club golfers in Asia.

Less than three hours from Bangkok, Hua Hin has been the Thai Royal family’s preferred holiday destination for more than a century. With 11 golf courses within 30 minutes of the main tourist hub, Hua Hin provided a quintessential Thai experience for the Centara World Masters.

Participants – typically in the 50-plus bracket – relished the camaraderie of a tournament played in 15 divisions based on age and handicap. Golfers play each day with competitors of a similar age and handicap.

Melbourne golfer Maria Kohut says the Centara World Masters pampers golfers from start to finish: “From the moment I stepped off the plane there was a hospitality team to welcome us and whisk us off to Hua Hin. At every point there’s friendly staff who knew what we wanted before we even wanted it.”

This year’s event also raised more than 200,000 Thai Baht for Jungle Aid, a charity providing a better future for displaced and disadvantaged Thai children in remote communities.

In 2019, the luxurious Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas in Hua Hin will again perform hosting duties for the sixth staging of the Masters from June 9-15.
