Australian star Cam Davis will return home this summer chasing more national silverware, confirming his place in the field for both the 2026 BMW Australian PGA Championship at The Lakes Golf Club and the Capital.com Australian Open at Kingston Heath.
A two-time winner on the PGA Tour in the United States, Davis has a special connection to southern Sydney, having won the Australian Open in 2017 at The Australian Golf Club, just a few kilometres from The Lakes. That victory remains one of the defining moments of his career, with Davis holding his nerve to claim the Stonehaven Cup and etch his name among the greats of Australian golf.
Since that breakthrough win, Davis has established himself as one of Australia’s leading players on the world stage, claiming two PGA Tour titles, including his breakthrough Rocket Mortgage Classic victory in 2021 and a second win at the same event in 2024, and representing the International Team at the Presidents Cup.

The PGA’s Kirkwood Cup has proven elusive so far, although the 31-year-old had consecutive top-10 finishes in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
“It’s always pretty special to come back to Sydney and play in front of friends and family, and having the BMW Australian PGA here at The Lakes makes it even more exciting,” Davis said. “I grew up playing golf around Sydney and the Australian Open win at The Australian is still one of the most special moments of my career. It’s pretty cool that The Lakes is right next door, so I’ve got a lot of great memories of playing golf in that part of Sydney.
“I haven’t won the Australian PGA yet, so it would be pretty special to add my name to that trophy as well. There are some great names on it and it’s one of the big tournaments every Australian golfer wants to win.”
On his return to Kingston Heath for the Australian Open, Davis reflected on what the tournament has meant to his career.
“The Australian Open has always been a really important tournament to me,” he said. “I grew up watching it and dreaming about playing in it, so to actually win it was a pretty special moment in my career. Looking back, that week really kick-started my professional career. It gave me opportunities to play overseas and helped me get on the PGA Tour, so it’s fair to say the Australian Open has played a huge part in where I am today.
“I’m really excited to get to Kingston Heath. It’s one of the great golf courses in Australia and one that I’ve always loved playing. Hopefully I can draw on some of the good memories I’ve had in Australian Opens and put myself in a position to have another chance at winning the Stonehaven Cup. It would mean a lot to win it again.”

PGA of Australia CEO Gavin Kirkman said locking in Davis was a major boost for the BMW Australian PGA Championship.
“Cam is one of Australia’s most successful players of his generation and having him back in Sydney in front of a home crowd is fantastic for the championship and our Tour,” Kirkman said. “He has already achieved so much in his career, from winning the Australian Open to claiming two PGA Tour titles and representing the International Team at the Presidents Cup. But Cam hasn’t won the Australian PGA yet, and I know how much it would mean to him to do that in November.”
Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland echoed that sentiment ahead of the Australian Open.
“Cam is a proven winner at the highest level and having an Australian Open champion coming back to compete at Kingston Heath is fantastic for the championship,” Sutherland said. “He knows what it takes to win this title and he knows what it means to Australian golfers and fans.”
Davis’ return adds further star power to a blockbuster summer of golf featuring Adam Scott, Cam Smith, Rory McIlroy, Lucas Herbert, Corey Conners and Josele Ballester.
The BMW Australian PGA Championship will be played at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney from November 26-29, before the spotlight turns to Melbourne for the Capital.com Australian Open at Kingston Heath.
