The Masters is about tradition, decorum and BRYSON DECHAMBEAU DRAINING BOMBS AND STINGING PALMS LFGGGGGGG.
Gotta give Bryson credit. He has figured it out. This is great!
Most players made the post 18 walk with a head nod and strolled by.
Bryson gave the fans what they want. Some acknowledgement. He even missed a kid and went back to make right.

That was the scene on Saturday evening after DeChambeau holed a 48-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to launch himself into the final pairing with Rory McIlroy heading into Sunday. The moment was more reminiscent of a heavyweight fighter celebrating another knockout or Ray Lewis exiting the tunnel at a Baltimore Ravens game than the Masters, but that’s exactly what made it so exhilarating.

There’s something very un-Augusta about DeChambeau. He has one gear—the top one. He wears his emotions on his sleeve alongside his Crushers logo, is YouTube famous and once infamously claimed Augusta National was a par 67 (that didn’t hold up so well). Yet that dissonance is exactly what makes him such a compelling Masters contender. He’s a student of the game, but he’s not following in anyone’s footsteps. He isn’t crooning “hello friends” so low he doesn’t inerrupt the chirping birds. He’s down in the pit high fiving the patrons while shouting “LET’S GO!” at the top of his lungs.

This is a big reason why golf fans were so angry that DeChambeau’s Friday 68 slipped through the broadcast cracks. He’s pure entertainment. He’s must-see TV. When we fire up our expensive premium streaming packages on a major weekend, we expect to see Bryson DeChambeau. This is now non-negotiable. For all those reasons and plenty more, you can bet the Rory roars won’t be the only noise echoing around Augusta National on Sunday …
