Miguel Angel Jimenez continues to live the high life, enjoying fine red wine and cigars while racking up PGA Tour Champions victories, the latest coming today in the Boeing Classic at the Club at Snoqualmie Ridge in Snoqualmie, Washington.

The flamboyant Spaniard, a co-leader with Billy Andrade entering the final round, pulled ahead by two strokes early on the back nine, then stubbornly retained his lead en route to a five-under par 67 to win by two. It was his third victory of the season and 13th of his senior career.

“Good cigar, of course,” he said when asked how he would celebrate. “Good wine, good cigar, good – everything good, you know. The life is too short to have bad things.”

Jimenez, 58, completed 54 holes in 15-under par 201. Melbourne’s David McKenzie finished second, while Andrade slipped to a tie for third with Stephen Ames.

“I hit it very well from the first round to today,” Jimenez said. “I was solid from the tee and played the last 45 hole with no bogeys.”

For McKenzie, 55, it was his second top 10 in nine senior starts this year, and it was the second runner-up finish of his senior career.

“I have been playing well for a year, but I haven’t been playing,” he said, noting his lack of starts this year. “It’s the first time I think all year that I have played two tournaments in a row. So hopefully, that’s just a bit of continuity to feel like I’m playing well, give myself chances, and hopefully that will continue.”
