Augusta National has announced its field for the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

In a release Wednesday the club confirmed 71 players had accepted invitations to the event held the week prior to the 2022 Masters, with 39 of the top 40 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings set to appear. Headlining the tournament are Stanford standouts Rose Zhang and Rachel Heck. Zhang is the World Amateur No. 1 and won the 2020 US Women’s Amateur while Heck captured the 2021 NCAA individual championship as a freshman last season.

Other notables include World No. 2 Ingrid Lindblad, South Korea’s Youmin Hwang and 2021 ANWA runner-up Emilia Migliaccio.

For Australia, Perth’s Kirsten Rudgeley will be the lone representative. Rudgeley famously won last year’s Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Open. Recently, she won the Avondale Amateur and finished seventh in the Australian Women’s PGA Championship.

The 54-hole Augusta Women’s event will be celebrating its third edition in 2022 (the 2020 contest was canceled due to COVID-19 complications).

The first two rounds will take place beginning March 30 at Champions Retreat GC in nearby Evans, Georgia, with the field reduced to 30 players after 36 holes. The entire field will get the chance to play Augusta National for a practice round on April 1, with the final round contested at Augusta National on Saturday, April 2.

The final round will be televised by NBC Sports, with Golf Channel airing coverage of the practice round. Tickets to the championship have been sold out.
