Adam Scott has performed well in his last competitive start before the Masters at Augusta National, registering a tie for 14th at the Valero Texas Open.

The 2013 Masters champion carded a two-under final round to finish at five-under – although he was 15 shots away from a playoff between Denny McCarthy and Akshay Bhatia, which Bhatia won on the first extra hole.

Aaron Baddeley was three shots further behind at two-under and was the only other Australian to make the cut.

Meanwhile, on LIV Golf, Marc Leishman finished fourth at LIV Miami. The Warrnambool pro finished eight-under-par and three shots out of a playoff where Dean Burmester defeated Sergio Garcia. Cam Smith was the only Australian on LIV who is in the Masters field. He withdrew due to food poisoning from LIV Golf Miami before the second round. All eyes will be on Smith to see how he looks during practice rounds at Augusta National.

Smith’s Australian teammates on Ripper GC, Lucas Herbert, Matt Jones and Leishman, are not in the Masters.

Australia’s contingent at the Masters is officially confirmed at six: Jason Day, Cameron Smith, Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee, Cameron Davis and amateur Jasper Stubbs.
