This week’s European Challenge Tour event is using an artificial mat on one of the holes. You don’t see that every week in pro golf. Heck, you don’t see that ever, really.

But the unusual sight on the par-3 ninth hole has been deemed necessary at the Dormy Open due to excessive rain in Sweden. Thanks to our friend Ryan French, AKA Monday Q Info on Twitter, for finding this quirky little nugget:

As you can see from French’s tweet, that’s not the only change to the Askersunds Golf Club caused by Mother Nature. The course is also being played as a par 67 instead of a par 72.
