Adam Scott has signed off his year in style, claiming a second Cathedral Invitational title with a commanding performance across the tournament’s two-day format in Victoria’s High Country.

Scott, 45, finished at 15-under-par (129) at Cathedral Lodge and Golf Club, hoisting the trophy he first won in 2023.

Ben Henkel produced the round of the tournament with a course record on the final day to climb into a tie for second alongside Marc Leishman at 11-under. Daniel Gale, who shared the lead after day one, slipped back to finish equal fourth with Cameron John.

More than 3,000 spectators attended across the weekend, with the final round marking one of the rare occasions the course opens its gates to the public.

“This course is tricky and even though I’ve won here before, I’m still learning little nuances here and there,” Scott said.

“It’s been a fun couple day and I’m learning more and more about the place. I just love being out here.”

While 2025 may not have been one of his most memorable seasons, Scott salvaged it a little this past month. He started the year ranked 18th in the world. He did not collect a top-10 finish on the PGA Tour this year, but missed only three cuts, although they were at three of the game’s biggest events. He dropped to 62nd by the time he returned home for eh Aussie summer, which was two spots better than it was the week before.

But this is the time of the year when the Queenslander still finds something left in the tank as he returns to his home country. Two weeks ago he mustered the goods over the weekend to finish seventh in the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland.

Last week he held steady down the stretch at Royal Melbourne to finish fifth in the Crown Australian Open, which he won in 2009. He finished four shots behind winner Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen. The finish, however, was good enough to send Scott, Si Woo Kim and Michael Hollick to the Open Championship next year as the Australian Open was part of the Open Qualifying Series. Kim and Hollick finished third and fourth, respectively.
