Golf equipment giant Ping has thrown its weight behind LIV Golf’s all-Latin American squad, Torque GC, in a landmark team sponsorship deal that kicks off this week at LIV Golf Mexico City.
The partnership sees Ping deepen its ties with team captain Joaquin Niemann – one of the undisputed stars of LIV Golf right now – and fellow Ping users Mito Pereira, Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz.
“All four of the Torque GC team members played Ping equipment prior to turning professional and continue to do so today,” said Ping CEO and president John K. Solheim.

“We’ve had strong relationships with each of them throughout their careers. They are great friends and tremendous competitors. We look forward to following their successes, both as a team and individuals, as they help increase Ping’s awareness to golfers around the world.”
Niemann, already a four-time winner on the breakaway circuit, has been one of LIV’s top performers over the past 12 months. His recent victories – and a win at the Asian Tour’s Saudi International with Ping’s new G440 driver – has cemented his status as a serious force in the global game and countered the popular belief that LIV Golf’s format and scheduling has hindered the careers of its world-class signings.
“My first set of Ping clubs was one of their junior sets and I’ve had Ping clubs in my bag ever since,” said Niemann.
“They’re an engineering company that puts product performance above all else. The equipment and service their tour reps provide gives our team the confidence to go out and compete for the podium every week.”
Munoz, Ortiz and Pereira have also distinguished themselves as champions over the years, counting 25 global wins among them.

Since being formed ion 2023, Torque has bagged four team titles on the LIV circuit, and with Ping now emblazoned on their bags, hats and clubs, they’re gunning for more.
“Mito, Carlos, Sebastian and I are honoured, and grateful Ping has chosen to support Torque GC in such a meaningful way,” adds Niemann.
Ping’s move is more than a branding exercise – it’s a bold endorsement of the LIV Golf model, and a clear sign the equipment wars are heating up on team golf’s new frontier.
