It’s Masters week and the whales are out, splashing big money in Vegas and beyond. But also the minnows, like you, me and this Canadian bettor who recently plunked down $1 CAD on a 17-leg parlay that has, miraculously, hit 16 of its first 17 legs. Mostly betting moneylines and a handful of spreads at MLB and NHL games, the bettor stands to win over $48,000 CAD should his final leg hit. All he needs is one teensy weensy little thing:

Brooks Koepka to win the 2024 Masters.

That’s a tall order to be sure. Any golf outright is tough to predict, just ask our experts. But it’s not altogether out of the question. First of all, we all know Koepka is a major killer. He gets up for golf’s biggest events in ways most golfers simply don’t. He was also the best player on the course through three rounds at Augusta National last year, but the weather (and Patrick Cantlay) wreaked havoc on Sunday’s pacing and he faded down the stretch, eventually finishing T2.

So we know Koepka can get along with the course and we also know he has unfinished business. He hasn’t been lighting LIV on fire so far in 2024, but if you’re our Canadian friend, sweating into your Molson, wondering whether to cash it out or let it ride, maybe that’s enough to convince to hold out for the big bucks.
