The three-day championship, co-sanctioned with the WPGA Tour of Australasia, will feature a $125,000 prize purse and showcase the unique challenge and charm of sand greens golf, as competitors battle for glory in one of the most distinctive formats in the game.

Holbrook, a proud New South Wales Riverina community with a rich sporting history, will once again take centre stage as it welcomes the world’s top women golfers. The event promises to deliver an exciting mix of elite competition, country hospitality and the unmistakable atmosphere that defines sand greens golf.

Olivia Wilson, Golf NSW general manager – golf, said the championship was an important celebration of women’s golf and the regional communities that keep the game thriving.

“The Women’s World Sand Greens Championship has become a highlight of the calendar. It’s competitive, it’s inclusive and it truly represents the spirit of country golf,” Wilson said.

“Holbrook will be a fantastic host, and with the support of the WPGA, we’re proud to see the event continue to grow and inspire more women to get involved in the game.”

WPGA Tour of Australasia chief executive officer Karen Lunn said the championship provides a unique opportunity for professionals and amateurs to compete together in a format that celebrates Australia’s golf heritage.

“This event is something really special,” Lunn said. “It’s played in a format that’s authentically Australian, and it gives our professionals a chance to experience the incredible hospitality and passion that regional clubs bring to the game. We’re delighted to partner with Golf NSW once again for what’s shaping up to be a fantastic tournament.”

NSW Minister for Sport and Minister for Jobs and Tourism, Steve Kamper, said the championship would be a boost for both women’s sport and tourism in the Riverina.

“The NSW Government is delighted to partner with Golf NSW to bring tournaments like the Women’s World Sand Greens Championship to our regions. This is a fantastic opportunity for fans and future golf talent to witness and be inspired by some of the world’s top female golfers in action,” Kamper said.

“It will also support local businesses and jobs by attracting fans to the Riverina and showcasing the region to a wide audience of visiting golfers who want to experience playing on stunning courses like Holbrook.”

The Women’s World Sand Greens Championship continues to grow in stature each year, highlighting regional courses and the passionate local volunteers who make these events possible.
