Golfers chasing the perfect home or club simulator experience are increasingly turning to bespoke builds rather than off-the-shelf packages. One Australian company is leading the way.
Webster Built specialises in designing, crafting and installing world-class golf simulator facilities, combining cutting-edge technology with premium craftsmanship. The result is a fully integrated space that not only delivers elite-level performance but also enhances the look and feel of a home, golf club or commercial venue.

We caught up with founder Caleb Webster, a PGA pro and former trainee at The National Golf Club on the Mornington Peninsula for a quick Q&A.
What’s your brief history in golf?
“I grew up in Tasmania and moved to Victoria when I was 18 to start my traineeship at The National GC, fresh out of school. I finished up in 2021 and stayed on coaching at The National for about 12 months and after that, there was so much work on with golf simulators that I decided to pursue it full-time. Webster Built has been running since 2020.”
How did Webster Built come about?
“It was during COVID-19, which was, I guess, the start of the emergence of golf at home. As at-home simulators gained popularity, more people were wanting to install them. Like any small business, there were weekend hours and after work hours spent on the business and eventually it had become its own business.”

What’s the most satisfying part of working with a client of Webster Built?
“Everything we do is completely one off and custom. It really is catering to whatever the client’s needs are, as opposed to a cookie-cutter golf sim, that’s the opposite of what we’re providing. It’s more about what we can do with the space that you’ve already got, or the space that you’re looking to build or extend on your house and getting the best out of that.
In what way are golf simulators adding to golf landscape?
“We’ve been doing a lot of commercial facilities lately. We’ve done three in Queensland within the last six months. Birdies Bayside is a sim in Redlands Bay. We’ve done Urban Fairways in the West End of Brisbane and now one that will open soon in Cleveland, Brisbane. One of the bonuses of this new part of the industry is expanding golf into more than just grassroots, on-course play.”
