Would you rather start or end a round with an eagle? Through two days at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Eugenio Chacarra doesn’t have to choose because he’s already done both. Must be nice.

The 25-year-old Spaniard capped his first round at the DP World Tour event with an eagle and then began his second with another. But it’s that second big bird that we’re focused on, because of how close it came to turning into a much more rare bird.

After hitting his opening tee shot right on Friday, Chacarra would have signed up for a simple birdie. As you can see in the photo above, he had to punch a low recovery shot under some trees to get back in position.

But what if we told you that punch shot nearly went in for an albatross? Would that be something that might interest you? We figured it would, so have a look:

EugeniOOOOO! Just a stunning shot from the former LIV golfer. Chacarra didn’t walk away with (arguably) the craziest albatross in golf history, but he happily made eagle as he continued his blitz of Royal Johannesburg Golf Club.

Chacarra’s 66 after an opening 63 has him two shots ahead through 36 holes as he looks for a second career DP World Tour title.
