Avid Australian Golf Digest reader David Moses and his son, Koby, found the perfect spot to ‘dive’ into our April Masters issue.
The father-son duo from Sydney were on a holiday to Israel when it dawned on them that this magazine may have reached its all-time lowest depth on earth.
“I’ve been reading AGD for many years,” David says. “But I’ve never read it while floating 440 metres below sea level in the salty embrace of the Dead Sea. I doubt anyone else has either.”
Our records to date would say you’re spot on, David!
This natural wonder (the Dead Sea, not AGD) is so dense with minerals that people can float without even trying – and clearly, it’s the perfect place to catch up on some Masters reading. Bordered by Jordan, Israel and Palestine, the Dead Sea is not only Earth’s lowest exposed point but also one of its saltiest bodies of water – almost 10 times saltier than the ocean. That high salt content makes swimming near impossible but reading? “I’ve got to say it was very relaxing,” David joked.
He has been playing golf for 40 years, while Koby took up the sport five years ago to spend more time with Dad.
“I play at Bonnie Doon and Woollahra in Sydney, and we like to play socially together at Woollahra and also at Moore Park whenever we get the chance,” David adds.
Australian Golf Digest readers – they literally go to any depths for their golf fix. We love it!
