Scottie Scheffler started off his week at the Charles Schwab Challenge with a shocking (for him) two-over Thursday. Trying to get back into the swing of things on Friday, Scheffler was flummoxed by Colonial’s bentgrass greens once again. He still has plenty of time to turn things around, but his 36 consecutive cuts streak is certainly in jeopardy.

The 640-yard, par-5 11th was the second hole of the day for Scheffler but he was already at his wit’s end, tossing his putter after burning the edge of the cup with his birdie putt. Welcome to the Bad Golf Club, Scottie.

“Screw these greens, man,” Scheffler said with a kind of Owen Wilson twang after the botched putt. This all came after a 353-yard tee shot in which Scheffler had a good shot to reach the green in two, so you can understand why he was frustrated to walk away with a par.

It’s been quite a few weeks for Scheffler, umm, well, you know why, so we have to cut him some slack. He can’t seem to figure out Colonial’s new greens but remains just five or so strokes back from the Schwab leaders. That’s pretty impressive.

Plus, the man stretched in a jail cell and then went five under at Valhalla. If anyone can figure it out, it’s him.
