Hollywood tells us police chases are supposed to be harrowing, high-speed affairs. Time and time again we are shown flashy sports cars with flashier women in the passenger seat careening over San Francisco hills as a charismatic criminal/wrongly accused hero races for their very freedom. Go rewatch ‘The Rock’ if you need a refresher, because this video of a Christmas Eve chase that unfolded at a Georgia golf course is more of a comedy.
According to Atlanta News First, the incident began when police were called to Steel Canyon Golf Club in Sandy Springs, Ga. in response to sighting of a wanted person. When they arrived, the suspect hopped aboard a golf cart and fled across the course. The officers then piled into the club’s fleet of carts and took off in not-so-hot-pursuit.

Eventually the suspect slowed down and gave himself up peacefully. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the altercation, so we can now chuckle at the yakety-sax absurdity of the chase. Police have not named the suspect or their charges, but here’s hoping they scored a bucket of balls or two for their troubles.
