The PGA of America confirmed that the event, historically staged on a Thursday, the day before competition begins Friday (late Friday night AEST), will instead be moved forward to Wednesday [Thursday morning AEST] due to heavy rain.

A pre-show will commence at 3pm on Wednesday (5am Thursday AEST), with the official ceremony set for 4pm local.

One tradition that will remain on Thursday US time is the captains announcing their line-ups for the first session. Keegan Bradley and Luke Donald are expected to reveal the day one foursomes pairings around 4pm Thursday (6am Friday AEST).

The outlook for the actual competition days for the 2025 Ryder Cup in New York shows little chance of sustained rain. Around 50,000 fans are expected on site each day at Bethpage.
