Golf Channel will air a skills challenge on December 17 (December 18 AEDT) at Trump National in Jupiter, Florida. The under-the-lights spectacle will feature Scheffler and McIlroy captaining two four-player teams in a “rapid-fire” competition. Those games include:
– 14-Club Challenge: One player from each team will square off in the 14-Club Challenge, drawing a club from a single bag (including driver and putter) in a closest-to-the-pin competition from a distance in the fairway. All 14 clubs, seven shots per player, and once a club is used, it’s out.
– Timed Shootout: A four-player alternate shot on three holes with teammates staged on the tee, in the fairway, and around the green.

– Rory vs. Scottie: Each player hits from predetermined locations. Shots will include a 90-metre wedge, 45m pitch, bunker shot, greenside shot, 50-foot putt, and 10-foot putt.
– Drive, Chip, & Putt: The only difference will be a time element added to the challenge.
Additional details will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
The event continues the trend of offseason golf exhibitions. Last year, McIlroy and Scheffler faced Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau in a contest, with McIlroy and Scheffler coming out on top.
