Rickie Fowler returns to Detroit Golf Club this week to defend his title in the Rocket Mortgage Classic after his victory last year ended a winless streak of nearly four years. Fowler birdied the 72nd hole to get into a three-man playoff with Adam Hadwin and Collin Morikawa, and then he birdied the 18th again to secure the win.
Fowler, currently ranked 50th in the world, is joined in Detroit by Akshay Bhatia (the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 15) and last week’s runner-up in the Travelers Championship, Tom Kim, along with Cameron Young, Chris Kirk, Min Woo Lee, Stephan Jaeger and Will Zalatoris.
