The Internationals are hanging in the 11th Presidents Cup, with the Americans taking a 7.5-6.5 lead after the Saturday foursomes.
Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace drew the first blood, knocking off Pat Reed and Rickie Fowler 3&2.
In the only other result, Charl Schwartzel made it incredibly tough for Jason Day on the back nine – after they led 3-up on the front – and the pair eventually succumbed to Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth, who took a 1-up victory.
The matches that were halved were Adam Scott/Marc Leishman vs Bubba Watson/J.B. Holmes, as well as Bill Haas/Matt Kuchar vs Sangmoon Bae/Hideki Matsuyama.
