The Players Championship, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, comes with its own unique level of anticipation. We’ll leave the “is it the fifth major?” debate for others to settle. There’s no denying, however, that golf fans get excited to watch the action at the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass each year. That’s largely thanks to the dynamic and dramatic nature of the Pete Dye original. Particularly on the closing holes, where eagle-birdie-birdie on the par-5 16th (reachable in 2), par-3 17th (the famed island green) and the par-4 18th (DO NOT GO LEFT!) is rare but possible, as is bogey-double-double.
Sawgrass is the equivalent of the car crash you can’t help but watch. Thankfully, if you’re so inclined, there are plenty of ways to watch the action from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Golf Channel and NBC will showcase it all on TV in the U.S., with their coverage also seen on Peacock. Can’t wait for the linear broadcast to begin? Well ESPN+ will once again carry PGA Tour Live’s streaming coverage from sunrise to sunset with multiple feeds offering more than 160 hours of golf.
