The PGA Tour is doing it right, heading to Mexico in February as the blustery conditions continue to hit the continental U.S. and the only 18 holes many casual golfers can play is on a simulator. Defending champ Jake Knapp leads the field traveling down to VidantaWorld along the Ameca River with $7 million and a spot in the Arnold Palmer Invitational via the Aon Swing 5 up for grabs at the Mexico Open.
Knapp won at Vidanta Vallarta last season claiming his maiden PGA Tour title behind an even-par finale. That was more than enough to win by two strokes over Sami Valimaki. Meanwhile, he’s coming off his best result in the fledgling season as well, a T-17 at the Genesis Invitational.
Akshay Bhatia, Matt McCarty, Joel Dahmen, Aaron Rai, Emiliano Grillo, Erik van Rooyen, Kevin Yu and Blades Brown will all tee off this week in Mexico as well. This will be Brown’s second professional start despite his 18th birthday still being a few months away.
This week’s winner will receive a $1.26 million first-place prize money payout from the $7 million total purse, along with 500 FedEx Cup points.
TV Schedule
Golf Channel will carry live coverage from Vidanta Villarta Golf Course on Thursday and Friday from 4-7 p.m. ET. On Saturday and Sunday, Golf Channel will air coverage from 1-3 p.m. with NBC/Peacock taking over from 3-6 p.m.

Streaming Schedule
PGA Tour Live streaming coverage will occur on ESPN+ from 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the coverage window is 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Coverage includes four streams—main feed, featured groups, marquee groups and featured holes, plus a separate Spanish language feed.
