One-hundred-and-twenty yards appears to be a perfect distance for Ariya Jutanugarn. The former world No.1 took a gap wedge on the 16th hole at TPC Boston during the final round of the FM Championship and one-hopped it in for an ace.

It was the first hole-in-one of the tournament but Jutanugarn’s fourth career ace, which might explain why her reaction wasn’t over the top.

“I’ve been struggling all day, all week,” Jutanugarn said after the round. Because of that, she did not have any expectations of holing one out. “I made two birdies today and my score is even. So I told myself if I can finish under [it’d] be nice.”
She finished par-par to shoot a two-under 70.
Two of her aces on tour resulted in her winning cars. While there was no car to be won at TPC Boston, her ace did earn a donation from CME Group to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Every time an LPGA player makes a hole-in-one at a tournament, CME donates $US25,000 ($38,000)
Jutanugarn, who has been on the LPGA since 2015, has won 12 times. Though she hasn’t won since 2021, Jutanugarn was part of a five-woman playoff at the first major of the year, the Chevron Championship. She’s finished in the top 10 five other times in 2025.
At TPC Boston, Jutanugarn finished the tournament at six-under, putting her in the top 40. With nine holes to play, leader Miranda Wang was leading at 20-under.
