The Masters merchandise shop is perhaps the most coveted memorabilia destination in all of sports. From shirts to hats to signs to silverware to those viral gnomes, there’s something for everyone within the walls of the Masters’ Disneyworld-esque gift shop. That goes for both the patrons and the pros.
This week, the DP World Tour quizzed a few players on what they bought and how much they spent in the shop when they made their Masters’ debut. Many couldn’t remember the exact details or damage, but not Kiradech Aphibarnrat. He remembered how much both he and his parents spent during their first visit to Augusta National, and with a bill this big, how could you not? [Aphibarnrat’s segment begins at 18 seconds].

“I think I spent more than $5,000 for flags and caps and all the souvenirs” the four-time DP World Tour winner admitted. “That’s only me, not including my mom and my dad. For all of us? Like $10,000 at least. “
$10,000 actual U.S. dollars! We’ve heard many tall tales of Masters pro shop plundering over the years, but this tops them all. He didn’t elaborate too much about what items he bought, but it sounds like the Aphibarnrats simply walked up to the cash register and said “one of everything, please.”
Needless to say, if you’re headed to the Masters with a tight budget, make sure to show this to the bookkeeper of your household first. It may not get you out of jail when you max out that credit card, but at least it’s a reminder that no matter how out of hand things get, they could always be worse …
