The 2025 US Open was a war of attrition. It began under sunny skies, but as the conditions worsened throughout the week, the best golfers on planet earth began to fall like dominoes. By the end of Sunday’s weather delay, those remaining on the course looked more like prisoners than golfers, while those who finished, beelined for the nearest watering hole.

That included Jordan Spieth.

On Wednesday at the Travelers Championship, Spieth was asked how he recovered from one of the most exhausting US Opens in recent memory. His answer only reinforced his role as golf’s “One of Us!” poster child.

Long story short, while waiting for Scottie Scheffler to finish up on Sunday evening, Spieth and his caddie Michael Greller shot over to the local Buffalo Wild Wings for some wings, beer and sports. A simple stress-relief strategy, yes, but a proven one.

“Post-US Open, I just kinda needed to throw a few back,” Spieth told reporters. “And then by yesterday I was good. I’m still young enough that doesn’t really bother me the next day.”

Spieth’s answer was as relatable as it gets … right up until that last part. We don’t know about you, Jordan, but after a couple of pints and some hot wings, we definitely feel it the next day.
