We interrupt our U.S. Open coverage to bring you the story of an Indiana man who was arrested for hitting a golf ball at a police car. And with accuracy like that, maybe he should have a spot in the field at Oakmont.
The weird occurrence happened on Thursday in Evansville, as reported by the local NBC affiliate.

According to a police report, police officers were doing training when a man came out of his home and started hitting golf balls. Then he turned and fired at the cops, striking a marked police cruiser and causing “a visible dent and damage to the paint.”
The man was later arrested, although he wasn’t named in the report.
Suffice it to say, hitting golf balls at the police—or anywhere on a street—is not a good idea. Unless, of course, you want to get locked up.
