Dylan Frittelli was left fuming after a shocking break in which his golf ball disappeared down the trunk of a tree at the John Deere Classic.

On the par-5 17th at TPC Deere Run, Frittelli pulled his drive and thought he might be entitled to relief. But a PGA Tour rules official told him he would only be eligible for relief if he could prove he could play the shot, or at least attempt to. He hit his fourth shot 204 yards to the left rough, and still had a 162 yds from the green for his fifth. He eventually made a double-bogey 7.
