The PGA Tour has reached its third event of the season, the first back on the mainland and in California for the American Express.

The three-course rotation over the first three rounds includes stops at the Pete Dye Stadium Course, La Quinta Country Club and the Nicklaus Tournament Course. The top 65 and ties after 54 holes will all play the final round on the Stadium Course. The field is competing for $8.8 million dollars, with the winner taking home $1.584 for the victory in Palm Springs.

Nick Dunlap is back to defend his 2024 title, where he became the first amateur to win a tour event since 1991. His life changed that week, when he was playing as a member of the Alabama men’s golf team. Shortly after the victory he accepted his PGA Tour card and later won another event, topping off an incredible season that earned him rookie of the year honors.
